As Mahatma Gandhi once encouraged, “Be the change.” Be empathetic and accountable to yourself and your own thoughts and actions, before you make assumptions about others. Amy challenges others to find solutions or be the solution. She coaches others to work outside of their comfort zone. Her motto for lifelong learning: “We all should be a different person tomorrow than we are today.” Amy is a navigator and an activator. She loves HR and is an HR generalist at heart. Amy has held HR and operations roles and worked in the manufacturing and service industries, small and large companies, as well as for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. She owned her own HR consulting business and taught graduate and undergraduate level HR courses at Cardinal Stritch University as well.
Key Accomplishments
- Executed a 6-month change management process to change performance reviews and merit increases from anniversary date to focal point, with 100 percent of year end reviews and new SMART goals completed on time
- Created and facilitated a 10-month leadership development program, which resulted in leadership effectiveness scores increasing from 65 percent to 71 percent in one year
- Drove U.S.-based development and implementation of a nationwide 90-day new employee orientation and onboarding program
Education
Amy holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University, as well as a Certificate in Lay Ministry.
Publications and Presentations
She is a speaker on interviewing, networking, resumes, and other job search related topics for local job search networking groups. She shares her presentation on “Positivity Pursuits” on LinkedIn.
Professional and Community Activities
Amy serves as vice president of 40Plus of Southeastern Wisconsin, which is a free, self-help support, resource, and advocacy group for all job seekers in southeastern Wisconsin. She is also a small group facilitator and a job search coach. She facilitates a virtual job seeker meeting every Saturday morning. She routinely donates blood, having given over 10 gallons. She also volunteers in HR capacities with United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County. She is proud of the marathon she completed and raised over $5,000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Fun Fact: Amy is a 10+ year H.O.G. member and loves driving her Harley and her Ski-Doo snowmobile.
