Leading Effective Teams Certificate Series

Well-structured, cohesive teams reach the highest levels of success. Managing initiatives and cross-functional project teams adds new challenges, and this program focuses on the leadership aspects of project management. By planning, executing, and closing out projects appropriately, you provide the structure that will successfully move the team to project completion. Through activities, discussions, and examples from their own projects, you will practice using techniques and tools to implement during project planning processes at work.

This is the fifth of five programs in the Leading Effective Teams Certificate Series.

Learning Objectives:

  • Implement the stages of the project management process.
  • Discuss the roles and responsibilities of the project manager.
  • Demonstrate the process of project planning by using your own project examples.
  • Facilitate effective stakeholder communication.
  • Analyze the impact of change from project management outcomes.

Prerequisites:

Completion of Leading Effective Teams 2: Communicating With Your Teammates is recommended.

If you have taken Project Management: The Human and Technical View, you will not need to attend this program.

Who Should Attend:

Leaders of departmental, cross-functional, HR, or project teams who may or may not have direct authority over team members. This program is also appropriate for those moving to a team-oriented environment from a management/supervisory role in traditional organizations.

Pre-work: To get the most value from the program, please identify a project that you are about to start or that you are already working on, and bring it with you.
