The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) will sunset on December 31, 2020. Covered employers have the opportunity to voluntarily extend paid leave benefits to employees if they choose, using the same daily limits and eligibility requirements of the FFCRA through March 31, 2021, however employers are still left with decisions to make as they plan for absences in 2021.
